Working with insurance
We're an out-of-network practice
We do not bill insurance directly. However, many clients receive partial reimbursement from their insurance company for out-of-network mental health services — and we make that process as easy as possible.
Working outside of insurance networks means we can focus entirely on your care. There are no insurance-imposed limits on how often we meet, how long treatment lasts, or what diagnosis you receive. Your care is guided by your needs, not a policy.
Superbills
We provide superbills upon request
A superbill is an itemized receipt containing everything your insurance company needs to process an out-of-network claim. You submit it directly to your insurer, and they reimburse you based on your plan's out-of-network benefits.
Each superbill includes:
- Provider credentials and contact information
- Dates of service
- Session fees paid
- Diagnosis codes (if applicable)
- Procedure codes (CPT codes)
Know before you start
Understanding your out-of-network benefits
Before your first session, we recommend calling the member services number on the back of your insurance card to ask about your out-of-network mental health coverage. Here's what to ask:
Questions to ask your insurance company:
- Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?
- What is my out-of-network deductible, and has it been met?
- What percentage of the session fee will be reimbursed after the deductible is met?
- Is there a limit to the number of therapy sessions covered per year?
- How do I submit a claim for reimbursement?
We're happy to walk you through this during your free consultation.
Financial hardship
Reduced-rate slots available
We have a limited number of reduced-rate slots available for clients experiencing financial hardship. Cost should not be the reason you don't get support. Please reach out and share your situation — we'll work with you to find a solution whenever possible.
